WEEK 4: ⦿ WEEKLY PROGRESS

 Major project  – status update

This week was interesting regarding the evolution of the project. For a start, I tried to export as high-quality images as possible from the tablet, but the result was not as expected.
Since the spring of 2019, Autodesk has discontinued the 3Ds max program for devices with a MacOs operating system.

That’s why, at home, I only have devices with this OS operating system capable of rendering the quality I want. I borrowed a computer from a friend who had an accessible computer on windows and the program installed. I overlapped both volume variants exported from the application and created the volume, but in the application, on the tablet, I did not have the opportunity to create zenithal light or other details or cracks in the ceiling. We took these details from other 3D volumes that we purchased with exclusive use rights.
We used all the necessary details and created the external volume to use later for the Augmented Reality application as mentioned in the Planning Plan.

For the exterior, I put some sculptures and vegetation. I would have liked to work more on the exterior volume, renderings with vegetation and as many details as possible, but it is unnecessary for this stage. I have to focus on what is to come and for each step I have for delivery.

After completing the volume, I exported it in fbx and max format. I tried the test, uploading it to the AR application, but unfortunately, the file was too big. I tried to reduce the file by different methods, such as minimising the source images’ size for textures/artefacts, but it was not enough. In the future, I will try to find solutions either for shrinking the file or for an application that will allow you to increase the volume to create the Augmented Reality function.

Below is the final volume on the exterior.
