Technological and digital advancements present growth in the mobile application sector. Today, nearly everyone has a smartphone. According to Forbes, out of the 8.9 million existing now, China takes up almost 40% of app spending. People get these apps for different reasons; either organizing their lives or connecting with a friend or family member.

Innovative Apps

In the past few years, many apps that help people share and create their art have been bourgeoning. By 2017, the worldwide virtual art market value was around $4.22 billion. Today there is a significant number of apps for art. The pandemic has also seen considerable growth in art gallery apps. However, what is an innovative app?

An innovative app challenges the status quo by creating game-changing products using and taking advantage of the latest and most advanced technology.

Here are some of the innovative apps for art galleries.

  1. Google Arts & Culture

This app became popular among Android and IOS users after the addition of features by the developers. The tool links the ‘Art Selfie’: zeitgeist with art history. This feature fascinates millions of people who utilize face recognition technology and artificial intelligence. Furthermore, the app matches people’s faces with doppelgangers in historical art.

Other than that, users can explore cultural institutions and historical treasures globally. It is an excellent app for those people looking to explore the global history, people, and art.

  1. WikiArt.org

WikiArt app is an online encyclopedia for visual arts where users can view and edit. The app boasts of one of the largest online sources of sound art. Moreover, it receives more than 2 million visitors, has over 120 thousand art pieces and almost ten million page views monthly. Over 2000 artists from 73 countries globally contribute to this vast database. Art lovers can find anything on this app.

  1. Tilt Brush

This app is only available on Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive uses artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies. This Google product with a superb user interface has an interesting animated brush. The brush is also available for an advanced user in a pro mode. It lets users create 3D artworks virtually.

There is no need for a canvas, and one can draw and paint anywhere they deem comfortable. The app has a variety of drawing and painting options as well as a different set of brushes. It creates a fun environment to be creative.

  1. Color Space

Color Space is another innovative app that appeals to non-artists. The app allows users to select individual colours, manipulate colours and use them in different visualizations using the broad toolbox. The colour palette has many different tones of various ranges that users can utilize to colour scenes around them.

The VR technology that the apps use allows users to experience some excitement and motions by adding moving animated objects around still landscapes. It indeed presents a beautiful and calming virtual world. 

Conclusion

Whichever way one puts it, innovative apps for art galleries will continue to grow both in functionality and numbers. Artists all over the world are looking for other better ways to expose and reach out to consumers. Technological advancements such as VR and AR are equally pushing for more creative apps into the market.
