WEEK 3: ⦿ WEEKLY PROGRESS

Major project – status update

During this week  I evolved with my project significantly because It was easiest to work on the front part, to be able to see in real-time the 3D space.

Working in the mobile application made my job a lot easier. After realising the plans was finished, I visualised the space in 3D, even to export renderings from the interior space. This made it easy to think and count how many artefacts can be displayed on the walls or inside the proposed interior.
Because I managed to work in 3D volume directly from the concept with textures and colours, I worked faster interior fading. Being able to walk inside was a big help as well. Additionally, the placement of lighting objects – direct light above the frames of the works was preserved, and the lighting plan, as well.

I was delighted to work on this project in this way; I even paid more attention to every detail because I felt I had time to explore and experiment on the concept side.
I am attaching the plans in 3d volume and some renderings inside this process.

I mention that I continued the research and writing part of the blog, in addition to this part of working in the 3D volume, directly on the tablet.

After exporting images from the inside, I was not satisfied with the renderings’ quality. Even though the tablet is powered with a capacity of 256GB, it took quite a while to render the images and export them to the program, and their quality was not high. However, the option to export the volume directly in 3D’s max format was very helpful. Basically, I modelled the whole volume on the tablet lightly with the interactive pencil, and I exported everything directly for the last retouches in max. The textures were also exported, as well as the objects for their arrangement. The volume exported from the tablet was received directly by e-mail to be ready to be converted into other formats for the next phases of the project.

I can say that I am satisfied with the choice I made. Finding an option to accelerate the evolution of the project in the present will bring me some confidence because I have certain technical concerns for the next phases. I need to have a period prepared in case I will not have success with what I set out to do.
